Tongcheng Yin Alley, Wuhan
Tongcheng Yin Alley is located at the intersection of Huangshi Road and Mingxin Street, adjacent to the Jiqing Folk Street, covering an area of 37,000 square meters and featuring eight buildings in the style of the Republic of China era. The project is invested by Baiyunbian, Hubei, infusing the spirit of Old Tongcheng’s commitment to quality into the project’s positioning, product development, and business selection.
In this open commercial street district, the building facades, streets, and even every brick and tile become a canvas for the designers. The key challenge for the design team was how to infuse more contemporary trends into the district and create a personalized, culturally vibrant street.
To achieve this, S.P.I Design focused on incorporating regional culture and customer needs, crafting an IP image, reorganizing the space, and integrating unique landscape elements. The aim was to regenerate the commercial vitality of the area and revive its regional culture, transforming “Old Tongcheng” from a humble local food haven into a cutting-edge cultural district, setting a new benchmark for modern trends in Wuhan.
