The Bejing Old Gulou Street Renovation
The project is located within the highly protected core historic district in Beijing, close to the Bell and Drum Towers on the south, and Old GulouStreet on the west, which is densely populated with quadrangles and criss-crossed with hutongs (alleys), full of strong historical and culturalatmosphere.
The project respects the historical continuity and integrity of the city, and strengthens hutong culture and humanistic spirit. With the concept of"weaving the city", it retains the traditional hutong layout and style, weaves together the fragments between the old and the new district,between natural and artificial elements, traditional and modern elements, and creates the first refined traditional residential community in Beijing.
