Gangtou Village Revitalization, Guangzhou
Located in Huadong Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou, Gangtou Village is a historic Lingnan village with a legacy spanning over 600 years since its founding in 1358. Like many ancient settlements, it has faced the challenges of urbanization—declining village fabric, outdated industries, population loss, and untapped cultural resources—making preservation and revitalization an urgent priority.
The design team began with extensive site visits and cultural research, shaping a renovation strategy rooted in Lingnan regional identity and centered on enhancing the village's unique cultural character. Instead of large-scale demolition or reconstruction, the approach focuses on subtle, localized interventions—revitalizing key nodes and public spaces to renew the village's traditional atmosphere and cultural vitality.
By creating immersive cultural settings that reflect local heritage and foster a sense of belonging, the project enhances tourism engagement and experiential depth. Through coordinated efforts in cultural, ecological, and industrial revitalization, the design aims to spark holistic renewal—using strategic focal points to drive transformation across the entire village.

乡村振兴的主体是村民，乡村振兴最终获利的也是村民，因此必须使村民充分参与到村落的规划建设中，激发其共谋共建的内生动力。
山水比德设计团队联合恒广运营管理团队积极与当地村民交流沟通，以乡民可以接受和理解的语言形式，最大程度提升村民参与度，增强村民的归属感和文化自信，更好地实现“共建共治共享”的乡村振兴理念。

岭南特色精品村建设以来，港头村的变化不断得到公众认可，越来越多人来到这游览、学习、亲子、放松，港头村成为名副其实的“网红村”，吸引着众多人前来打卡。
