In this project, we envision the “box” as a vessel for emotional and spiritual expression—serving as a narrative thread that organizes space, introduces unique artistic interventions, and anchors memorable scenes. Through this design, we seek a spiritual refuge nestled within the forested mountains.
As Aristotle suggested in De Anima, “Nothing enters the intellect that does not first pass through the senses.” Guided by this principle, we strive to transcend the mundane, remain grounded in the present, and craft a landscape experience imbued with a profound sense of place.
A series of fragmented scenes unfold through the forest, using the landscape as a medium and guided by three conceptual “boxes” in distinct states—the Box of Light, the Floating Box, and the Disappearing Box. These elements interweave to form a playful journey through the mountains, where waterfalls, foothills, bridges, pavilions, lakes, woods, streams, and valleys converge.
This immersive composition evokes a meditative state in which the boundary between self and surroundings dissolves, inviting visitors into a realm of unity between the individual and nature.
