Chinese Mansion, Beijing
In ancient times, a “mansion” was the private residence of princes and nobles, symbolizing traditional etiquette, aristocratic prestige, and refined luxury. Guoxian Mansion, located at the heart of Liangxiang University Town in Fangshan District, Beijing, spans 4,713 square meters. It embodies the minimalist aesthetic of Chinese design, presenting the oriental philosophy of a “residence with an inner courtyard.” Rooted in tradition, it carries forward the cultural legacy of the imperial capital, seamlessly bridging historical heritage with a forward-looking vision.
With the theme “A Dream of the Garden,” Guoxian Mansion brings cultural depth into contemporary living by reinterpreting the grand artistry of Song Dynasty gardens through a modern lens. It captures the serene spirit of forests and springs with refined contemporary expression, distilling the natural elegance of the imperial capital into a tranquil urban retreat.
Nature and city are harmoniously integrated—waterfalls, natural stones, ancient trees, and curated artworks serve as spiritual media, initiating a timeless dialogue between past and present. The design weaves a three-dimensional urban landscape of mountains and forests, using the spatial rhythm of courtyards to transition between the tangible and the poetic. The result is a richly layered aesthetic experience—where nature, art, and culture converge in a multidimensional expression of modern oriental living.
